1. LAG PUTT FROM JIM MCLEAN

Jim, who is a member of 6 Halls of Fame, has taught PGA and LPGA tour winners namely: Cristie Kerr, Tom Kite, Alexis Thompson, and Keegan Bradley. In this video, he will show you a great way to work on distance control when it comes to long-distance putting. 

Lag putting is a drill that has been used for so many years but not as popular as the usual putting green drills. 

Jim also says that this drill will teach you how to control your hands and feet. 

This drill is good for a 40-foot putt.

Ultimately, in lag putting, you have to concentrate on the target, which is the hole and not the ball.  Makes sense, right?

2. TEES2GREENS GOLF INSTRUCTION WITH STUART SMITH

Stuart Smith and his 20-year coaching experience believe that putting like a pro is individualistic. While everyone has their own style and grips, the only skill that would set you apart from others is consistency. 

As Stuart explains in the video, to successfully putt like a pro, one must be consistent.

He also explains the importance of standing still and minimizing using too many hand movements.

3. SPOKE PUTTING DRILL BY GARRY RIPPY

In this video, Garry Rippy of Barton Creek Golf Academy in Texas shares his expertise in putting it like a pro. He calls it the “spoke” putting drill. This drill will help you build the habit of making more successful short putts. 

Short putts are any putts that are 2,3,4 or 5 feet away from the hole. 

This drill is important because, even though the ball is just a foot away from the hole, without a putting drill, you will have a tendency to miss the putt.

4. AIMING THE RIGHT WAY BY JERRY TUCKER

Jerry is a PGA Master Professional who has invented a game test app that lets you evaluate your short game. Jerry’s philosophy is all about the proper timing, which for him, is the most difficult drill. 

He shows in this video a little trick he uses to aim a putt. 

However, when he took it out, he said that the lining of the grass has something to do with aiming a successful putt.
