Have you ever felt dead tired halfway through a round of golf? I know I have! It was like the golf club weighed a tonne and every step forward was a struggle. I remember stopping at the halfway house to grab a hot dog and a sugary sports drink to try and perk myself up. Does this sound like you? Golfers spend up to five hours on the golf course, so it makes sense that we need the right tasty golf snacks to provide all the energy we can get.
If we eat the wrong foods we’re not going to be feeling energetic enough to make a good golf swing.
This lack of energy also affects our brain functions and the ability to make smart decisions on the golf course.
The good news is there are many nutritious high-energy golf snacks at our fingertips to help you charge through your next round of golf.

Apples have long been regarded as one of the best sources of energy. Apples are full of fiber and antioxidants that are vital for overall health. Most importantly for golfers, apples are rich in energy-dense carbohydrates in the form of sugars.
These natural sugars provide fuel to your cells which require very little digestion before your body absorbs them.
The result is the nutrients from the apple repair your tissues fast making them a must for the serious golfer.
WALNUTS
Walnuts are a great source of longer-lasting energy which makes them a must for golfers. Walnuts are full of protein which means they work slowly but last longer making them ideal for 4 to 5-hour rounds of golf.

PEANUT BUTTER
Peanut butter is chock full of protein and fiber and keeps you full longer so your stomach won’t growl at you on the golf course.
Hence the name, peanut butter is full of peanuts which are full of high rich vitamins and minerals.
Adding peanut butter to a piece of whole wheat bread is a great source of fuel to keep energy levels high during a round of golf.
WATER
You probably could have figured this one out yourself! Water is not a snack as such but is the perfect partner to any one of the above foods. It’s surprising how little water some golfers consume during a round of golf.
In the Summertime, I consume anywhere from one to one and a half litres of water during a round of golf.
Waters benefits are obvious and need to be consumed in small amounts every 15 minutes.
Water is a much better fluid source than a sugary sports energy drink.
It’s a must-have on the golf snack list.
